Quick Fix Tips for a Shank

The first thing to check is whether your weight is correctly positioned on the balls of your feet and not your heels. This is one of the simplest ways to cure a Shank

Once this has been identified in your set up you need to maintain this feeling during your swing to stop your head moving forwards towards the ball.

If you are still facing problems you can move onto the two ball drill. Address the outside ball and hit the inside ball. This helps you move the club in a better direction and away from a Shank.

The second drill is to use a basket. Position the ball close to the edge of the basket and aim to strike the ball without hitting the basket. You are aiming for a toe strike. This moves the contact to the other extreme which helps you move away from the dreaded shank.
