Castlereagh Hills Golf Club
Castlereagh Hills Golf Club in Co.Down created a double bay area for team coaching, group lessons, and for private hire. Read below how we transformed this empty shed into a 2 bay golf simulator and then brought it to life.
Putting Grass Area
We used a 4.5m x 4.5m area in each bay for this area. 2 putting cups (cored into the floor), fitted a luxury 18mm dense underlay and covered with southwest premium grass. The purpose of the underlay is for the driving mat and putting grass to sit at the same height. This is required when cutting out the area for the driving mat to sit in.

The driving mats used are from SouthWest . the mats are 30mm tall and because this room has a concrete floor, we had to lift the rest of the floor (using underlay) to then cut the mat area out to sink it into so the mat and grass lay evenly.
Mats are 2.3m wide x 1.3m front to back, this allows a left hander and a right hander to be able to stand on the mat and hit from the same spot. No vibrations, no miss reads on your launch monitor from the club bouncing on the mat, no elbow pains... the most premium mat available.

The cabinet keeps trackman 4 safe and avoids anyone kicking it (sits safely underneath the cabinet). We designed the cabling to have the computer set within the cabinet and can be locked if necessary.
We only use Par2Pro HD 4K screens for our installs. Par2Pro rated as one of the most premium and technical screens in the world. We are lucky to be one of very few UK based distributors and carry several rolls at any time. This allows us to custom make your screen within days no matter what the size is. We feed a 12mm elastic rope through a specially made pocket at the bottom of the screen to stretch the screen into shape. No other screen sits better when it is fitted correctly.
We only fit with Panasonic grade projectors (unless it’s a short throw project). Panasonic no longer offer lamp lit projectors. They only use laser bulbs now which last so much longer and give a much crisper picture. The two main models are the PT-VMZ51 LCD (what’s used in this project), and the PT-VMZ61 LCD laser. Both very premium, the 51 model (5000 lumens, and the 61 model 6000 lumens).
Leather pads are the game changed. These finish out the room and add such a class exclusive feel to the place. We divide out the wall space evenly, so every pad is the exact same dimension. Most installers will use a standard 500x 500 pad and stick a small piece in to fill the last space, we customise every tile the same size to fit perfectly. Whilst these are expensive, they look great, help to reduce sound and help redirect a mis hit shot back towards the screen.
