Sometimes the smartest path between two points is a curved line. When it comes to the putting path, this isnt just an educated guess. Its a fact. Why not build this mathematical fact into the putters design? Thats exactly what Scotty did with the Detour. Years of analyzing the worlds best players under the scrutiny of high-speed video shows that the proper putting path actually follows an arc.
The arc is created by the lie angle of the shaft. With a standard lie angle of 71 degrees, Scotty built the right putter for the path. The Detours curved body is milled from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum and includes a stainless steel backweight. The body (which is also the face) is then surrounded by a heel-and-toe balance component milled from 303 stainless steel. This aluminum and stainless steel setup perfectly triangulates the putters weight distribution for enhanced dynamic stability through the stroke.
Scotty Cameron detour putter has had a custom makeover, with a lovely golf/black finish. Compared to the original satin finish. Putter comes with a futura mallet headcover. From the photos you can see the headcover has some signs of wear. The putter also comes with a brand new Scotty Cameron pistol grip.
