In 1947 Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory was jointly owned by Adolf (Adi) Dassler and his brother Horst but during that year the brothers fell out, causing them to dissolve the company and set up new ones on their own. Horst set about founding Puma whilst Adolf created adidas and a great rivalry between the pair began. From small beginnings in Germany, adidas has become one of the world’s largest sports brands in both apparel and shoes and are renowned for their innovative and highly functional sportswear.
