The Titleist TSR1 18° fairway wood (which is typically the 5-wood loft) is an ultra-lightweight, high-launching club specifically designed for golfers with moderate swing speeds, generally those under 90mph with their driver. The primary goal of this club is to help these players generate more club head speed effortlessly and achieve higher, longer ball flights without needing to swing harder.

The club is engineered for exceptional forgiveness and ease of launch. It features a new open hosel construction, which allows Titleist engineers to position the center of gravity (CG) deeper and lower in the 180cc head. This deep CG placement, combined with a 15% higher moment of inertia (MOI) compared to its predecessor (the TSI1), results in a more stable clubhead and consistent speed across the entire face, even on off-centre strikes.
